In Summer 2023 we celebrated the world's biggest inclusive sport event in Berlin. With a lot of personal motivation and happiness we supported the "Berlin 2023" with creative consultancy, campaigning, experiential marketing and brand experience. It was a huge success with more than 18'000 volunteers from 126 countriess and over 100'000 tickets sold.

The special olympics world games is one of the three olympics that travel the planet and bring athletes and sports enthusiasts together. While the famous olympics honour and celebrate elite athletes and their performance, the paralympics celebrate the combination of highest athletic and technological performance. The Special Olympics is a sports event for people with intellectual and multiple disabillities.
The Special Olympics is the most unknown of the three olympics and had a brand awarness of 3% in Germany in Summer 2022.
The Special Olympics is only possible with a huge amount of volunteers. The first goal was to create campaigns to get around 15'000 volunteers to Berlin. Furthermore brand and event awareness had to be raised significantly to - third goal - sell tickets.
"This is the world's biggest inclusive sports event. Different to the two big olympics, the special olympics truly stands for the power to connect people through sports."
EXECUTION
During the day, the room is used as an open co-working space and café. At lunchtime it becomes the canteen for ZDF and other surrounding companies and editorial offices. The blog finds its way into BASECAMP via a large upright media wall and provides relevant topics of conversation. The new O2 shop invites you to consultations and provides the essentials of everyday digital work.
In the evening, the BASECAMP is transformed into an event forum with a stage and mobile direction in a few simple steps. With 200 events per year, modularity was the key to this concept. The development time including implementation and construction was 6 weeks.
CONCLUSION
The event was a huge success. Under the eyes of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner, the Federal President Frank Walter-Steinmeyer started the Berlin 2023 Games. With around 18'000 volunteers from 126 countries, over 100'000 tickets sold and many thousand happy athletes and their teams the Special Olympics Berlin 2023 was an incredible experience. We are immensely proud and honoured to have been part of this journey.
